Business Development Manager – Pharmaceutical Testing

Summary of Position:
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our team. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be required to identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow.

Location: Nottingham, UK

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, these include:

  • Developing long-term relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Proactively generate new leads and opportunities by creating regional target lists
  • Visiting customers to promote sales of products and services
  • Maintaining, growing and supporting relationships with international distributors
  • Participating in international conferences, seminars and exhibitions
  • Assist Sales and Customer Support teams with preparation of sales and after-sales quotations
  • Providing in-house and on-site product training sessions for customers, distributors and colleagues
  • Working with the marketing team (internal and external) to support promotional strategies
  • Contributing ideas for new product development and helping to evaluate new propositions

Qualification & Skills:

  • Degree-qualified in a science or engineering-based subject
  • Competent sales and negotiation skills
  • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to multi-task and prioritise busy workloads
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • An ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required
  • A full clean driving licence
  • Experience working with dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, suppositories, transdermals, powders, granules and/or semisolids in a pharmaceutical laboratory advantageous, but not necessary

Salary & Benefits:
