吸入气雾剂（MDI)空气动力学粒径分布(APSD) MDI或BAI的空气动力学粒径分 布将决定气溶胶微细粒子吸 入后可能的沉积位置。如果微细粒子太大， 则会卡在咽喉后部。 微细粒子太小，则被呼出而不是沉积在体内。 多级撞击器是测量MDI或BAI产品的APSD 是否满足法规和药典要求的首选仪器， 有五种不同的多级撞击器适合评估APSD， 但美国和欧洲药典只 提及了安德生多级撞击器(ACI)， 新一代撞击器 (NGI) 和多级液体撞击器(MSLI)。

呼吸驱动控制器BAC 100i也可以用于呼吸驱动(或呼吸操作)吸入气雾剂的测试。在这种情况下，BAC 100i用于启动流量，同时触发呼吸驱动吸入器。
